Nachos, Film Reviews and a Great Night In

When I have a quiet few minutes at work I like to look up a few film reviews to see what the evening holds in store for me. This means that as I deal with an annoying boss and demanding customers I can let me mind drift ahead to something more entertaining.

A Good Film

I seem to have really bad luck in picking films when I don’t read the film reviews first, and this is why I need to do some research before plumping for one. I usually try and look up a few different film reviews until one catches my eye. Most genres are fine by me and I can generally find something suitable really quickly.

The Meteoric Success of Edward Bass

Edward Bass has got to be one of the busiest newcomers in Hollywood today. He is at that exciting juncture in his career where he is just one project away from really hitting the big time. Of course, one glance at his resume would easily give the impression that he has always been a big name in tinsel town. With an eye- popping list of credits featuring some of the most established names in the business, Bass is practically poised to take the silver screen by storm.

No stranger to the world of celebrity, Edward Bass has always held a reverent fascination with cinema. He has been singled out by entertainment insiders over and over for his uncanny knack at choosing the best projects and the best actors to perform in them. He has developed an intimate familiarity with the biz even at a young age, when family outings involved backstage visits to some of the biggest music stars of their day.

Once he got fully entrenched in the entertainment world, Bass tried his hand at producing his own shows. These were not just any shows. However, more often than not, these were either wildly popular musicals or star-studded live events. Among others, he has produced the musicals “Great Moments on Stage” and “Stardust” in addition to star-studded tributes to Bob Hope and John Gary.

It was not long before Bass finally made the big leap to producing honest-to-goodness Hollywood films. His first break came with the 2005 crime drama “Slingshot” which starred David Arquette and Thora Birch. One of Bass’s most successful projects, by far, had been the 2006 ensemble piece “Bobby.” Featuring a dizzying array of some of the latest and greatest names in the business, “Bobby” is set in the late 1960s on the eve of one of the most dramatic events of that entire era.

Besides producing a successive string of movie projects, Edward Bass had also headed a Parisian modeling agency, become President of the American Foundation for the Performing Arts, and even served as director on a racetrack in Europe. He has contributed to his fair share of charitable causes, whether it was raising AIDS awareness or donating toys to Russian children.
